Pharmacies For Sale in Michigan

MI-1. Western Michigan - A long-established (70 years in the same location) full line pharmacy and general store located in a pleasant resort and vacation area in Western Michigan, 30 miles east of Lake Michigan, 70 miles north of Grand Rapids. There is no competition of any kind within twenty miles of this store. The trading area contains a population of over 10,000 people and this grows substantially during holiday and vacation periods, both summer and winter. Current sales volume is close to $3MM annually, 50% Rx sales and 50% front end. Full store margins of 23% due to high margin front end sales of seasonal and recreational merchandise. Long lease available at very modest rent, possible real estate investment for a qualified buyer. The store is open six days a week, 51 hours in total, occupies a 5,000 sq. ft. space with an additional 3,500 sq. ft. of storage space. There is financing available for a qualified buyer.

MI-2. Central Michigan - Only 150 miles from Detroit. A two store group, less than 30 miles between the stores. Current annual sales at $5.6+MM, continued solid growth pattern, excellent gross margins, high earnings. Both stores are full line pharmacies located in pleasant small towns. Each is fully staffed and ready for new management, as the current owner is retiring. Very limited competition, no other pharmacies within 15 miles of either store. Low operating costs, easy to manage due to short hours, no nights or Sundays. Owner is willing to finance the deal for a qualified, creditworthy buyer with a reasonable down payment.

MI-4. Southwest Michigan - A long established professional pharmacy (same owner for twenty-three years) located in a pleasant and growing small town. There is no local competition whatsoever, the nearest competitor being more than 9 miles away. Current sales volume of $1.9MM, solid gross margins. This business will service debt, provide a good ROI on the down payment and a very comfortable living for a new owner. Easy to operate, open only 52 hours per week, no nights or Sundays/holidays. Long lease available at very reasonable rent (1% of current gross sales). Financing available for a qualified buyer with a reasonable equity contribution and good credit standing.

MI-5. Eastern Michigan - A long established (70 years in the same location) full line pharmacy located in an upscale suburb of Detroit, 35 miles north of the city along Lake St. Clair. The only independent in this upper income marketplace (median family income is 40% higher than MI median), a town with a population of almost 10,000 people. The store is located on a highly visible corner in the downtown area, close to the lake front. It occupies a 1,600 sq. ft. space which can be leased on favorable terms or the building can be purchased from the current owner, who is also the owner of the pharmacy. Current sales are just short of $2MM annually, 18%++ gross profit, strong net after all expenses due to low operating overhead. The store is currently filling 29,000 prescriptions per year, 6% cash, limited to no Medicaid, the balance traditional managed care. It is open from 9 to 6 Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, 9-8 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, closed Sundays and all holidays. There is financing available for a creditworthy and qualified buyer with a reasonable equity contribution. This is an opportunity for a first time buyer to buy into a growth situation in a pleasant small town marketplace. This store can provide a reasonable living for an enthusiastic and motivated owner while paying down debt, will commence to grow with the right person in charge. There are no doubt specialty opportunities in this market (such as compounding, certain closed door opportunities) that can provide significant additional sales and profits.

MI-6. Eastern Michigan - A full line, high volume independent located in one of Michigan's largest cities, 65 miles northwest of Detroit. The only independent in the immediate area, serving a trading area with more than 120,000 people. 2007 sales of $7.15MM, steady growth of 5% annually, will do $7.5MM in 2008. Full store margins of 18%++. The store is currently filling 111,500 Rxs annually, 5% cash, 4% Medicaid, the balance Managed Care, 80% of these scripts are traditional retail, the balance hospice, nursing home and assisted living. The store occupies a 2,000 sq. ft. space, plus full second floor currently used for storage, could be converted to additional Rx filling area for expansion of specialty business. The building is available for a long lease or purchase if a buyer so desires. The store is fully staffed, open 9-7 Monday through Friday, 10-5 on Saturday, no nights, Sundays or holidays. There is owner financing available for a qualified buyer with a reasonable equity contribution and a good credit standing. This store has potential to keep on growing with the right management in place, can be developed with more closed door business by a knowledgeable operator.

MI-7. Central Michigan - Long established four store chain, in pleasant semi-rural market. $11mm++ current sales volume, strong growth trend, 85% Rx. Solid gross margins that will satisfy debt, provide good ROI. Can be absenteed as all locations are currently fully staffed. Minimum $1++ million cash required. Balance and terms (for a qualified buyer) to be negotiated.
